Dr. John M. Wray
Dr. Wray is a native of Greenville, Maine, and attended undergraduate school at the University of Southern Maine Portland – Gorham. He is a 1971 graduate of the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and did a two year surgical residency at Sacred Heart Hospital in Chicago. Following his residency, he joined the faculty at Scholl College where he taught surgery for 18 years, attaining the academic rank of Clinical Professor in Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Wray has been board-certified in podiatric surgery for 30 years by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a fellow of the American Society of Podiatric Surgery.
Dr. Wray began his private practice in 1977 as an associate of Peter N. Varzos, DPM. He took over the practice in 1983 at the time of Dr. Varzos’ retirement from private practice. The name Drs. Varzos, Wray, and Associates continued until January 2000 when the practice incorporated as Podiatry Center, SC. Dr. Wray is a member and past president of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association and a member and a past delegate to House of Delegates of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
A member of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Licensing Board from January 2012 through January 2018 and Chairman of the By-Laws Committee of the American Podiatric Medical Association since August of 2012.
Monica is from Deva, Romania where she began her professional career as an registered nurse. She began working in our Downers Grove office in September 2000 as a clinical assistant. She assumed the role of business manager in February 2003 working in both the Chicago and Downers Grove offices. Our office is affiliated with the Independent Physicians Association (IPA), which covers a larger Chicago metro area and employs 60 podiatrists and advanced foot and ankle specialists. The IPA sponsors a minimum of two workshops per year for our office staff which are geared to keeping us abreast of the latest developments in today’s modern medical business office. Topics include: medical coding, claims filing, and compliance with state and national regulations regarding workplace safety and patient privacy. Monica is a frequent attendee at the Midwest Podiatry Conference which offers a wide array of educational programs for podiatric assistants and business managers. Monica is fluent in Hungarian and Romanian.
Eniko Daczo (pronounced Ann’- e-ko), joined our staff in April 2011 to begin her training as a chair-side assistant in Downers Grove. She came to us as a certified EKG technician. She now covers both the Chicago and Downers Grove offices in that capacity and is learning our business office policy and procedures. In addition to her responsibilities with patient care, Eniko is responsible for inventory and ordering as well as verification of insurance benefits. She also participates in staff training programs sponsored by Advanced Foot and Ankle IPA and the Midwest Podiatry Conference. A Romania native, Eniko is fluent in Romanian and Hungarian and lives in the north suburbs with her husband and daughter.
